In order to become a better reader there is no better way than to spend time reading material that is enjoyable to you. Our hope is that you have selected something from the library that you will enjoy reading. We will be engaging in this reading activity two or three times a week, therefore, it is very important that you have chosen material that you will be able to read with enjoyment.
Mr. Pierce and Mrs. Martin have developed a few questions to help determine whether your reading selection is a good fit for you.
1. What is the title of your book?
2. Who is the author of the book?
3. What type of book have you chosen (i.e. fiction, non-fiction, graphic novel)?
4. Does this book connect to your interests? Explain.
5. When you are reading this material do you find there are: many, few, or no problems with comprehending the text?
